It fills me with utter, complete joy to tell you that my debut cookbook, Good Time Cooking will be published on 12th September this year with Pavilion Books!!! Writing a cookbook has been my dream since I was a little girl, narrating myself making carbonara to an invisible camera after spending hours watching Ina Garten on the TV. Without you, my lovely readers and the little community we have here, this would not have been possible. So a huge, huge thank you from me.
Good Time Cooking (or GTC as it is affectionately known in my head) is an extension of The Dinner Party in book form and it is available to pre-order now!
You might be wondering why you would order a book now when it won’t be out for a while. Let me lay it out for you.
BOTH high street retailers and independents use pre-order numbers to decide whether or not to stock new books. So lots of pre-orders = lots of retailers, more chance of the book getting to more people!
Every single book sold before the book comes out counts towards the first week of sales, which is how bestseller lists are compiled. So if I, a relative unknown, want to have any chance at hitting any kind of top 10/20/100 I need as many pre orders as possible.
Pre-order numbers help determine marketing / publicity opportunities (radio/TV/festivals) which in turn help me to get the book to more people.
Importantly, when you pre-order you don’t pay for the book until it is published, and when you do you are guaranteed the best price for it. Right now your pre-orders are essential on pushing the book out to more people - you’re basically saying “this is gonna be great!” to all the people out there that don’t yet know they need it. So if you feel like spreading the good word, then please do pre-order!
A BIT ABOUT THE BOOK
Good Time Cooking is a Dinner Party bible with 20 incredibly delicious, vibrant and highly cookable menus - over 90 recipes - for the very goodest of times. There’s a menu for the First Barbecue of Summer, A Big Birthday, for when you have 2 Hours Notice or when you are WFH. There’s a Plant Based menu, a menu made from Storecupboard Saviours, a Roman menu and a menu for when The Game is On. There are of course menus for all the obvious calendar dates - Christmas, Bonfire Night, Valentines and my Sunday Roast. Good Time Cooking also has a Styling Guide, Equipment and Ingredients essentials and a Drinks chapter too (scrummy if I do say so myself).

Naturally you don’t have to stick to the menus if you don’t want to. Each recipe has it’s own Make Ahead and Substitutions section as we do here, but also will have its own Scaling Guide, so you can increase or decrease quantities with ease. Plus I have created a little mix and match option for recipes, so if you want to create your own menus or one of 6 different combos that I have suggested, you can. Ultimately, this book is a manual for entertaining, and I have written it just as I try to here, like a cool, calm and experienced friend on your shoulder guiding you to greatness. Whether you want to cook a whole menu or just one recipe, you will have a Good Time Cooking.

I’ll leave it there for now or I’ll get in trouble with my publishers for giving too much away. Just know that I am so grateful to you all for your support, and that I really hope Good Time Cooking can find a place in your homes, you helped make it!
More to come soon!
All my love,
Rosie x
