Hello gorgeous More Please subscribers!! Thanks as always for your incredible support! You make The Dinner Party possible and I am incredibly grateful to you.
This week I have got 3 classic French bistro dishes that can be done EXQUISITELY at home. French food is definitely having a little renaissance right now but it feels like it doesn’t get many outings in home cooking, compared to the chokehold that Italian or Indian food seems to have on our cooking habits. I suppose it’s because it can be a bit fatty, or a bit meaty for a weeknight ; it definitely feels more indulgent. But hey - it’s the second month of the year and it’s high time you bloody treated yourself I say.
And boy did I treat myself cooking these recipes. All I can say about the Steak Haché with Peppercorn Sauce is - it fucking slaps. Then we have a seriously, seriously perfect Salade de Chèvre Chaud aka Warm Goats Cheese Salad. Previously considered basic but these days is iconic, especially my version. And finally the most divine Sole Meunière - perfectly cooked fish in a warming, rich brown butter and caper sauce. It doesn’t get sexier than that. I can’t wait for you to try them all.
A quick note - if you are London based or in the area for the next month, I have a fun pasta menu being served by the lovely team at Albie in The Hoxton, Southwark. It’s three warming pasta dishes that I bloody love - Mortadella Mac and Cheese, Big Green Pasta and Anchovy, Chilli and Red Pepper Linguine. It’s only on until 13th March and you can book here.
And a little housekeeping - I am going on holiday!! I will be eating approx 5 meals a day in glorious Malaysia from Friday, so if you want to follow along and see where I go do check out my instagram.
