MORE PLEASE - CUFFING SEASON
An Autumnal Date Night Menu including divine Pork Chop with Orange and Kalamata and Crispy Sage, 2 excellent sides and a heavenly Chocolate + Coffee Cremeux from Soph and Adam of Scramble LDN
ROSIE : Hello lovely subscribers and welcome to the final More Please in October. Taking over the mic today we have two extraordinarily talented cooks and writers who I have admired for literally years, as they started in this industry around the same time as I did. When I had just begun assisting food stylists and working in food media, Sophie Godwin and Adam Bush were beginning their careers at BBC Good Food and Olive Magazine respectively. I saw them a couple of times when I was in the building testing recipes or shooting, and thought to myself “I wish that I could be that cool and clever”. Now, almost 10 years later they are married with a son, their own incredible business Scramble, their Substack Properly Delicious, and not to mention dozens of excellent cookbooks under their belts.
And what a success their business has become. Scramble combines their experience as both chefs and recipe developers into an amazing one-stop-shop caterer and cookery consultancy. Developing recipes, writing books and also catering big events is a massive amount of work but they do it all with abundant, experienced joy.
I think it is extremely clever and I am so thrilled they have written a menu for The Dinner Party this month. It’s a gorgeous Date Night number serving 2, which we haven’t had in a while! Autumnal, cosy and elegant - it’s the perfect way to kick off Cuffing Season (where you find someone warm to hunker down for winter with). They’ve even included Time Plan and Mise-en-Place tables for you so you can make this the romantic dinner of your chosen ones dreams.

SOPHIE AND ADAM :
Adam and Soph here! Husband and wife food writing and chef duo of Scramble LDN. We couldn’t be more thrilled to be taking over Rosie’s BANGING newsletter for a night of getting it on.
If you’re reading this, chances are you already agree that cooking someone a meal is the ultimate expression of ‘I love you’, or at least if you’re not at that stage, I really like you and think you’re hot. I mean I fell in love with Adam at least 20% for his knife skills alone. Ha.
So let’s get cracking with what’s on the menu:
So you’ll see that there is no starter here, that’s because we are firm believers that every meal should start with a bowl of crisps (preferably Co-op own brand salt & vinegar) and a bev of your choice.
Moving onto the main event we have:
SHARING PORK CHOP WITH ORANGE, KALAMATA & CRISPY SAGE
FENNEL SEED & CHILLI CARROTS & CHICKPEAS
ANCHOVY, KALE & PARMESAN SALAD
CHOCOLATE & COFFEE CREMEUX WITH PINE NUT CARAMEL
It’s a real banger of a feast, and fairly laid back cooking wise - the only real technical bit is the pud, which can be done way in advance, so you’re chilling. Exactly what you want for a date night. We hope you love it.
