A RECIPE ROUND UP - CHRISTMAS EDITION
A juicy selection of dishes from the archive that you might need this festive season
Hi gang!!! I thought I would introduce a new feature here - A Recipe Round Up. Every now and again, when the moment takes me, I am going to put together a selection of recipes for you from the archive to help serve a purpose. There is so much good stuff in there, going back 18+ months, and I feel sometimes things can get lost in the sands of time. Plus, the intention for this newsletter was always to be a kind of manual for entertaining, so it feels fitting to make it a bit more easy to approach.
So, with this in mind and the festive season in full swing, I am starting with Christmas Cooking. I have tried to group the recipes into categories that I think are useful for this time of year and suit the moods and needs of the festive season.
So the age old problem of great and varied side dishes is the first on the list.
Then we have big old mains - dishes that can be prepped ahead to feed the metaphorical 5000 if that’s something you require. If you’re looking for something to cook on NYE, this might be a good place to start.
Next is a list of recipes that are great for using up leftovers, either roast turkey, chicken, cheesy odds and ends or perhaps just bread from making stuffing.
Next is Brunch on a Hangover - I know it’s not just me that thinks this is a useful category! I crave a massive breakfast after drinking and love to see a table filled with tea and good savoury things.
Finally, Festive Puddings. If you, like me, don’t eat xmas pud, then this category is for you.
If you want a more straightforward long list, do check out the Archive, and if you’re looking for Canapé Ideas, do check out last months episode - Camp as Canapés for an excellent recipe round up and 5 more gorgeous recipes.
